• The name neon is derived from the Greek word neos, “new.” Neon was discovered (1898) by the British chemists Sir William Ramsay and Morris W. Travers as a component of the most volatile fraction of liquefied crude argon obtained from air.

An inert gas, neon is 100% safe and in the air around us. Other inert gases are: Argon, Helium, Xenon, and Krypton.

Argon and Neon are the most commonly used gases in the craft, however other noble gases are used occassionally in artistic practices.

  • What we do is real neon. In our mind, there’s nothing else. It’s a craft that uses glass tubing bent in a flame and science makes it alive!

LED neon isn’t neon. While LED has it’s place, it doesn’t have a personality and doesn’t have the same PUNCH!

How long will it last - 8-15 years (always on)

Otherwise, if made properly, it can outlive us. The power supplies can last from 10-25 years.

Efficiency - Neon and LED have around the same efficiency and are both safe and use virtually very little electricity to operate.

  • The answer is this: ANY!

Depending on your needs and budget, there are more than a hundred colors to choose from.

There are a variety of whites, for example: cool white (6500), 4500 (middle), and warmer whites (2800-3500k).

Take a look at our chart and reach out for to see in person.

  • Yes! a few factors depend on this, however.

Beer signs - Depending on the degree of the issue, repairs can be more costly than the sign is worth to you. Unless it’s sentimental, it may be beneficial to find a copy for sale online to trade it’s parts.

Mercury - Any sign that is cool in color (i.e. whites, blues, purples, yellows, & greens) will contain argon and mercury. I will NOT repair them. I will REDO the unit in question by tracing the original and making it new.

Neon - YES! All neon can be repaired, sometimes with just new electrodes and a new pump.

  • 2-3 weeks (usually)

If you need your sign sooner, a rush charge will be implemented.

  • Yes!

Whether I make it or not, I am able to install your sign as long as it’s indoors. If outside work is needed, additional information will need to be provided.

  • It depends on how comfortable you feel about it, where it’s going to end up, and if it breaks while you’re hanging it, you are okay with paying to have it remade.

  • COPYRIGHTED ARTWORK - If you saw something online that you would like to have made, check to make sure it’s not copyrighted by an individual artist or another entity.

If it’s not owned already, we will make it.
